If you have been scrolling through protein products lately, you have probably seen Amul's small tetra pack that claims 35 grams of protein. Before you order a case, you want three answers: what does it actually cost, which pack sizes exist, and where can you get it without hunting across five apps.
This guide covers all three, plus the nutrition label, what the price works out to per gram of protein, and a few things worth knowing before you buy.
Amul High Protein Milk price in 2026
The price per pack is ₹110 for one 250 ml tetra pack. That is the MRP shown on Amul's own online store, and it works out to ₹440 per litre. Amul sells it in multi-packs, and the per-pack price stays the same whichever size you pick.
| Pack size | MRP | Price per 250 ml pack | Protein in the box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single 250 ml pack | ₹110 | ₹110 | 35 g |
| Pack of 8 | ₹880 | ₹110 | 280 g |
| Pack of 32 | ₹3,520 | ₹110 | 1,120 g |
Prices are MRP as listed on Amul's online store. Quick-commerce apps and local shops can charge differently, so check the price on screen before you pay.
One thing to know: prices have moved. An older snapshot of the same Amul listing showed the pack of 8 at ₹792, which is ₹99 a pack. The current listing shows ₹880. If you are comparing against an old review or forum post, that is probably why the numbers do not match.
Pack sizes available
For the 35 g protein milk specifically, there are only two multi-pack options on Amul's store:
- 250 ml × 8: a sensible first order if you have never tried it. At ₹880 it lets you test the taste and texture for about a week and a half of daily use.
- 250 ml × 32: the bulk case at ₹3,520. There is no bulk discount, so the only reasons to buy it are convenience and fewer delivery fees.
The single 250 ml pack is mainly a shelf and app item. You will see it on retail shelves and in delivery apps rather than on Amul's store.
Stock is the bigger issue than size. When I checked, both multi-pack listings on Amul's store showed as sold out, so be ready to try a second channel.
What is inside the pack
Per the label on Amul's product page, one 250 ml pack contains:
- Protein: 35 g
- Energy: 225 kcal
- Fat: 0.5 g
- Carbohydrate: 20 g, all of it naturally occurring sugars (glucose and galactose), with 0 g added sugar
- Lactose: under 0.1 g
- Sodium: 57 mg
The ingredient list is short: water, milk solids, the enzyme beta-galactosidase and artificial vanilla flavouring. The enzyme is what breaks lactose into those two simple sugars, so people who struggle with regular milk often find this one easier. The sugars are also why it tastes sweeter than plain milk even though nothing sweet is added.
For context, Amul says toned milk carries roughly 3 g of protein per 200 ml. That makes this pack several times more protein-dense than the milk most Indian households buy.
Is it good value? Cost per gram of protein
The maths is simple. ₹110 for 35 g of protein is about ₹3.14 per gram.
Ordinary toned milk is cheaper per gram, but you would need well over a litre of it to reach 35 g, along with the extra calories and fat that come with it. Whey powder can be cheaper or dearer depending on the brand and tub size. So the value case for this milk is less about the cheapest protein and more about getting a large, ready-to-drink serving with no mixing, no shaker and no fridge until opened.
If you are tracking intake closely, our protein intake calculator guide helps you work out how many grams you actually need each day. That tells you whether one pack is a top-up or most of your target.
Where to buy Amul High Protein Milk
Here are the realistic options, roughly in order of how reliable they are for stock:
- Amul's online store (shop.amul.com). The most direct route, with the official MRP and the pack of 8 and pack of 32 listings. Availability swings, so a "sold out" label does not mean it is gone for good.
- Grocery and quick-commerce apps. BigBasket carries a wide Amul range, and Blinkit, Zepto and similar apps usually stock Amul dairy near you. Search for "Amul High Protein Milk 250 ml" and confirm the product says 35 g protein. Several lookalike "high protein" milks exist, including an Amul Calci+ variant, and they are different products.
- Amul parlours and large supermarkets. Worth a quick call if you want a single pack to try before committing to a case.
- Amazon.in and third-party sellers. Fine if nothing else is in stock, but compare the per-pack price with ₹110 and check the expiry date on arrival.
Availability depends heavily on your pincode, so no list of stores can promise the pack is on a shelf near you. Checking the app with your delivery address set is the quickest test.
How to use it so it does not go wrong
This is not regular milk, and the two mistakes people make are heating it too hard and storing it too cold.
- Do not boil it. Amul's own tip is to warm it gently, because it will stick to the bottom of the pan if boiled.
- It thickens in the fridge. Cold makes the proteins bond and the milk turns thick. Leave it out for a while or warm it slightly and it thins again. The protein content stays the same either way.
- Once opened, finish it and refrigerate. Check the best-before date on the pack and follow the storage instructions printed there.

When it fits, and when it does not
It suits people who find it hard to reach their protein target from meals alone, such as busy professionals, frequent travellers and lifters who want a portable post-workout option. If you are sorting out how much protein to spread across the day, how much protein per meal to build muscle explains why splitting intake usually beats one huge dose. If you want to time a pack around training, read our piece on a 40 g protein post-workout meal.
A few honest caveats:
- It is lactose-free, not dairy-free. It is made from milk solids, so it is not suitable for milk allergy or a vegan diet. For those, our high-protein gluten-free dairy-free snacks list is a better starting point.
- It is calorie-dense for a drink. At 225 kcal a pack, it counts as a small meal when you are trying to lose weight, so log it. Our beginner's guide to macro tracking shows how.
- Medical situations need a doctor's input. If you have kidney disease, are on GLP-1 medication, or are managing a condition that changes your protein needs, check with your doctor or dietitian first. Our guide to protein planning on GLP-1 medications covers the muscle-preservation side, but it does not replace medical advice.
Other Amul high-protein products and their prices
If the milk is out of stock or too sweet for you, Amul's store lists several alternatives:
| Product | Pack | MRP |
|---|---|---|
| High Protein Buttermilk, 200 ml | Pack of 30 | ₹900 |
| High Protein Plain Lassi, 200 ml | Pack of 30 | ₹900 |
| High Protein Paneer, 400 g | Pack of 2 | ₹330 |
| Whey Protein, 32 g sachets | Pack of 30 | ₹2,400 |
The buttermilk and lassi work out to ₹30 per 200 ml pack, which makes them the cheaper daily option if you do not need 35 g in one go.
Making it part of a weekly shop
Most people do better when the protein is planned rather than improvised. If you are building a budget-friendly list, our cheap high-protein grocery list shows where a pack like this fits alongside eggs, dal and paneer. For a late-evening pack, the high-protein bedtime snacks guide covers timing. If you want the full system in one place, the High-Protein Grocery Playbook is our e-book on the topic.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Amul High Protein Milk cost?
The MRP is ₹110 for a 250 ml pack. A pack of 8 is ₹880 and a pack of 32 is ₹3,520 on Amul's online store.
How much protein is in one pack?
35 g of protein and 225 kcal per 250 ml pack, according to Amul's label.

Yes. Lactose is listed at under 0.1 g per pack because the enzyme beta-galactosidase breaks it down. It still contains milk, so it is not suitable for milk allergy.

Amul advises against boiling. Warm it gently instead, since it sticks to the pan if boiled.
Why is it sold out online?
Both multi-pack listings on Amul's store showed as sold out when I checked. Stock changes, so check again or try a delivery app with your pincode set.
